METHOD OF OPERATING ROVING FRAME

PURPOSE:To enable proper sending of sliver even if back rush occurs in gears of a drive system, by specifying degree of gear change at drive starting of speed variation mechanism of a bobbin drive system. CONSTITUTION:In a roving frame having a bobbin drive system equipped with a speed variation mechanism consisting of a pair of cone drums 17 and 19 and a belt 18, when rotational speed of a bobbin 6 is controlled by transferring the belt 18 of a speed variation mechanism based on a program during formation of wound silver, a value of belt transfer at the beginning of the formation of wound silver is set lager than a real value of belt transfer by back rush of gears of the drive system into consideration.
