The method consists in causing a first conveyor 1 to actuate so as to tip the material onto a second, reversible, endless conveyor 2, in causing this conveyor to operate in a direction for bringing the material to a third endless conveyor 6 weighing the material and running at a low speed until a given weight of material has been deposited thereon, then at a higher speed when the weight is reached, in reversing the direction of movement of the second conveyor so that it stops delivering material, in continuing to make the conveyor 6 operate at a second speed until the quantity of material has been off-loaded, and in returning the conveyors 2, 6 to their initial conditions.
