The invention relates to a strap-type coupling for the flexible connection of, for example, a wheel-set axle of rail vehicles to a drive assembly. The coupling has two joint planes arranged at a distance from one another, each joint plane being formed by arms extending radially outwards and alternately connected to the input and the output. The arms each carry, at their outer end, two pins situated one behind the other in the circumferential direction, the said pins projecting on both sides in the axial direction, on which are arranged, on both sides of the arms, straps which connect in each case one pin of one arm of the input to a circumferentially succeeding pin of the adjacent arm of the output. The straps are composed of elastomer and, at their articulation points, carry metallic bushes and are reinforced against extension by means of textile surface layers. The strap-type coupling is thus torsionally very rigid but nevertheless flexible.
