PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in cooling efficiency by a method wherein a plurality of cooling systems are provided, the optimum cooling system having the cooling characteristics suitable for preheating and regular operation of the titled magnet, is selected and cooling efficiency is increased by coordinating said cooling systems. CONSTITUTION:Cooling pipes 4 and 5 are attached to the inner bobbin 2 and the outer bobbin 3 of a superconducting coil 1, and the coil is cooled by the helium or the liquid helium and the like flowing in the cooling pipes. The cooling pipe 5 must be used when a preheating is performed, and the cooling pipe 4 must be used when a regular operation is conducted. However, these pipes may be used conjointly. The conductance of the cooling pipe 5 is made higher than that of the cooling pipe 4, and this improves the flow of helium gas when a precooling is performed. According to this constitution, the precooling is performed using the cooling system located on the side of the outer bobbin by opening a valve 10. Also, a valve 9 is opened, and the cooling system on the side of the inner bobbin only is used in the state of the regular operation to be performed after the precooling is finished. As a result, the structure and the operation suitable for the state of physical property of the refrigerant flowing when a precooling and the regular operation are performed can be obtained. |
