An apparatus for the external cleaning of the ends of copper pipes and the ends of connection pieces (fittings) for copper pipes intended for soldering, at least three rotatable metal brushes or shafts provided with metal-mesh parts being arranged symmetrically and at a distance from one another in such a way that the end to be cleaned can be inserted between them, is to be designed in such a way that effortless cleaning of the external surfaces of pipe ends is possible even when pipe ends of different diameters are to be cleaned in succession. For this purpose, the invention envisages that the shaft of one of the metal brushes be adjustable in its distance from the other two, the other two shafts being non-displaceable.
