The invention relates to a bandsaw with an endless saw band, which is run over a drive wheel, drivable by means of an electric motor, a guide wheel and a tensioning wheel, and a table top arranged on a table frame for putting on the material to be sawn, the table top having a slot in the area of the saw-band section running between the drive wheel and the guide wheel, the drive wheel being arranged below the table top and the guide wheel being arranged above the table top, and the table frame being connected to a machine frame for mounting the drive wheel, the guide wheel and the tensioning wheel. Exact guidance of the material to be sawn while obtaining exactly predeterminable cutting angles is achieved owing to the fact that the table top is adjustable to a limited extent on the table frame in the direction of the saw-band section and carries a swivel plate with two clamping receptacles for a tube, that the swivel plate is rotatably mounted and lockable on the table top in such a way that the axis of rotation runs in the area of the slot of the table top through the centre longitudinal axis of the bar-shaped or tubular material to be sawn which is secured in the clamping receptacles, and that the saw band revolves perpendicularly thereto in a track orientated in the adjusting direction of the table top but is turned and guided parallel to the adjusting direction between the guide wheel and the drive wheel by means of two 90 DEG turning devices.
