PURPOSE:To prevent a workpiece from being condemned due to that the position of the cutting edge of a tool is changed, by issuing a refabrication disabling alarm when it is forgotten to compensate the tool by making the cutting edge of the tool into contact with a cutting edge measuring device during exchange of tools. CONSTITUTION:A turret on a tool bed is indexed after starting and judgment is made on whether a tool is extracted or not. If the tool is removed, a tool attaching demand alarm signal is issued from a tool attachment and measurement demand memory 9, and a compensating flag is turned off. Then, if the tool is attached, judgment is made on whether the tool is measured or not. If the tool is not measured, a measurement completion signal and a memory 11 turn on the compensating flag and case the alarm. Then, the tool measuring value is computed by an offset computing means 12 which delivers a compensating valve that is then written in a tool file 13 before completion. With this arrangement an alarm is issued to prevent the tool from being left to be attached if the tool is not yet attached during tool exchange, and further, the cutting edge of the tool is measured by the cutting edge measuring device, and therefore, no condemned workpieces are produced. |
