The invention relates to an assembly tool for a row of expanding plugs, arranged on a motor-vehicle body along an at least approximately straight line, for fastening trim, soiling or impact strips. In order to reduce the assembly times for the expanding plugs, the invention provides for the assembly tool to be constructed as a sliding shoe, the length of which is greater than twice the distance between two adjacent expanding plugs and the sliding surface of which is raised at a small angle at least at one end to at least the expanding-mandrel projecting length and has at least one guide strip to the side of and in the longitudinal direction of the sliding shoe.
