<p>A container (12) for an egg comprises two parts (14, 16) each in the form of a cup having a flanged rim. The rim flange (19) of one part (16) has projections (26) which engage, in snap-fit fashion, in apertures (28) in the rim flange (18) of the other part (14) when the two parts are brought together, open end to open end, about an egg. The two parts (14, 16) are formed with holes so that the egg can be cooked by boiling whilst still within the container, and one part (14) thereafter removed to allow the boiled egg to be eaten whilst supported by the other part (16) acting as an egg-cup. A plurality of identical such egg containers may be fitted, as a friction fit, in respective apertures in a tray so that each individual egg container can readily be pulled from the tray, with its egg, when required.</p> |
