In a safety-belt fastening for receiving and locking an insertion tongue, with a housing and with a push-in path for the insertion tongue, the said push-in path being arranged in the housing and containing an ejector which is under spring effect, with a catch which is guided in the fastening and, in the event of locking, cooperates with the tongue recess and which keeps the insertion tongue in an associated recess of the fastening, and with a sliding button guided in the housing transversely to the plane of movement of the catch and intended for cancelling the locking, there is the problem that a shock safeguard has to be provided in the effective plane of the sliding button and, if appropriate, of further actuating or securing members, in order to prevent a release of the catch in the event of movements of the fastening in the tongue plane and the mass forces of inertia generated thereby. To solve this problem, it is proposed that the sliding-button guide (20, 21, 22) have an overtravel (24) counter to the direction of actuation of the sliding button (20), and that, as a result of the overtravel movement, the sliding button (20) trigger a catch device (28, 41) subsequently retaining it. <IMAGE>
