PURPOSE:To obtain such environment for air conditioning that is most suitable for the construction of a room in which an air conditioner is provided, by accommodating rotatable toroidal plate having an opening and a blocking part in a toroidal outlet port formed on the outer periphery of an air inlet, blowing air flow from a outlet port in any direction depending on the position of the opening of the toroidal plate. CONSTITUTION:When a fan 2 rotates by operating a motor 4, the indoor air drawn through an inlet 5 passes through an air filter 10, a guide cylinder 7, and an inducing plate 15 to coils 3. The indoor air is heat exchanged in the coils 3 and flows down between a casing 1 and a guide plate 6a and then passes through openings 16a of a toroidal plate 16 to be discharged through a outlet port 8 into the inside of a room. Since the toroidal plate 16 is provided rotatably in the discharge passage, the air flowing out from the outlet port 8 can be discharged in any direction through 360 deg. depending on the position of the openings 16a, whereby optimum environment for air conditioning will be attained. Further, in the case of a rectangular room, effect of air conditioning is improved by concentrating air flows in the direction of a longer side of the room; therefore, blocking plates 16b-1, 16b-2 are moved and fixed within the toroidal plate 16 so that the openings 16a have optimum discharge area. |
