ENCLOSED ALKALINE-MANGANESE SECONDARY CELL

摘要

PURPOSE:To suppress production of oxygen gas and to suppress inflation of a cell by forming the negative electrode active material for an enclosed alkaline- manganese secondary cell while mixing specific quantity of zinc oxide into zinc. CONSTITUTION:Negative electrode material for forming a negative electrode 7 is formed by mixing 10-100wt% of zinc oxide with 100wt% of zinc. Then it is filled in a sealing board 8 and assembled with a positive electrode 2 arranged in a positive electrode active material, a separator 4 and an impregnating member 5 thus to form an enclosed alkali-manganese secondary cell employing alkaline aqueous solution as electrolyte. When recharging, zinc oxide mixed in the negative electrode will react preferentially into zinc prior to water decomposition thus to suppress production of gas. Consequently, inflation of cell is suppressed resulting in a cell having excellent pressure withstanding characteristic.
