A heat-sensing arrangement is contemplated, one employing a monitoring laser system. An improved optical film-shutter medium for such systems is described, this being characterized as an ultra-thin layer of absorber material rendered in an island configuration and adapted to be so affected by the contemplated test-level of heat energy as to "agglomerate" and better transmit the monitor laser beam.
