In a pantograph-type copy milling machine in which the tracer 22 is axially slidable in a bearing 26 carried by the pantograph 16, vertical movements of the tracer are transmitted in a reduced ratio to the bearing and thus through the pantograph 16 to a tool 20 by an attachment comprising a lever 38 pivoted to the tracer at one end and constrained to move in a plane normal to the tracer axis at its other end, and a cantilever arm 28 swivellably attached to the bearing 26 and having a bearing member 30 arranged to contact one of several pins 40 on the lever 38. The bearing member 30 is adjustable along the cantilever arm against a scale 36 to vary the transmission ratio from the tracer to the bearing 26. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 3, not shown) the lever 38 bears against a cam 54 which provides a transmission ratio which varies with the depth at which the tracer point is operating. |
