<p>The converter is fitted on its circumference with two sets of support elements consisting of >=3 elements each. One set is below and one above the level of the horse shoe shaped support ring. The distance of corresponding elements on the converter form each other > the relevant horse shoe support dimension. This is because its upper surface is fitted with several support plates for the upper converter support elements, and the lower side is fitted with closures which bridge the gap between the lower face of the support ring and the lower converter support elements, on which they rest. Pref. a pillar is fitted into the ring, which protrudes downwards onto the converter support claw and can be vertically displaced slightly by horizontal movement of a locking lever which attaches it to the ring. The system permits removal of the converter from the rings with nearly no lifting of the converter being necessary.</p> |
