PURPOSE:To eliminate an aldehyde evolved from a food using ethanol, etc., and protect the food against putrefaction and deterioration, by placing an adsorbent adsorbing ethanol, a readily oxidizable substance and aromatic aminosulfonic acid in a housing hermetically sealing a food so that ethanol vapor and oxygen may permeate. CONSTITUTION:An adsorbent adsorbing ethanol, e.g., silicon dioxide, readily oxidizable substance, e.g. oleic acid, and one or more of an aromatic aminosulfonic acid, e.g. sulfanilic acid, or an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt thereof are placed in a hermetically sealed housing containing a food in such a state that ethanol vapor and oxygen may permeate. The food, particularly using an alcohol is protected against putrefaction and deterioration. An oxidation accelerator, e.g. reduced iron, is preferably incorporated in the readily oxidizable substance. |
