PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet printer of high speed, accuracy, and reliability having no possibility of the misregistration due to interference between ink drips and the change in a ink drip size, by applying a bias voltage between a counter electrode holding a recording paper and a recording head to fly ink drips, and a recording signal voltage between recording signal applied electrodes and an ink flying electric field forming electrode board. CONSTITUTION:Between an electrode board 6 and a counter electrode 2, a space of large electric potential difference enough to establish an sufficiently small interference between ink drips when the ink drips fly is formed, thus the electric potential difference is formed between recording signal applied electrodes 5a, 5b...5n and the electrode board 6 to charge the ink by the electric charges injected from the side of the recording electrode which is in contact with the ink. The counter electrode 2 has been biased to a positive electric potential against the electrode board 6, therefore the inrush of negative electric charges to ink columns 9a, 9b,...9n leads the ink to fly. |
