PURPOSE:To obtain a large quantity of sintered CdTe body of high density by disposing the mixture of CdTe and CdCl2 in an opened neutral atmospheric furnace, and baking it at temperature rising velocity of 3 deg.C per min. at 500-700 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:20 molded mixtures 3 of CdTe+CdCl2 having 10X10X0.3cm are contained in a nichrome winding furnace 1 of 30X30X30cm of inner volume by multistage stack porcelain racks 4, nitrogen gas is used as neutral atmo spheric gas, and fed from a nitrogen gas inlet 5 at 1l per min. After the air in the furnace is sufficiently substituted for the nitrogen gas, a current flows to nichrome wire heater 2 to raise temperature in the furnace. The density of the sintered CdTe is measured through the initial high speed temperature rising step, the intermediate low speed temperature rising step and the rear high speed temperature rising step, and the propriety of the sintered state is judged. Then, 5.70g/cm<3> or higher of density is exhibited to obtain excellent sintered of CdTe body. |
