PURPOSE:To obtain a solar battery of desired size and shape by covering a glass substrate with a resin protective film to the edge of the surface, and then cutting from the back of the substrate, thereby eliminating a crack at the edge of the resin film. CONSTITUTION:In this case, a resin film 3 is formed to cover a glass plate 2 to its edge 21. Accordingly, when a diamond roller 5 is scribed on the plate 2 on a substrate 4 on the line A-A in a direction of an arrow 6 as shown, even if the roller 5 arrives at the position C near the edge of the plate 2, a resin film 32 exists thereunder so that the roller 5 is scanned on the layer. Thus, each photovoltaic element 1 can be divided without cracking or damaging the plate 2. As a result, a solar battery of desired method and shape can be formed without damage of the edge of the glass plate. |
