PURPOSE:To remove an unnecessary black ground by driving an auxiliary light source if the light source is opposed to the end part of an original image in an original scanning direction when a latent image of the original has been formed on a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:An LED array is constituted of LED0-LEDn, all LEDs are lighted up during the period that an optical system is scanning p0-p1 of an original platen, and at p1-p2, only LED0-LEDi and LEDj-LEDn are turned on. At p2-p3, all the LEDs are turned on. Thus, an unnecessary black ground in a frame erasing area can be removed by controlling the destaticizing lamps. Consequently, an unnecessary black ground on the side part is also removed in addition to the end part of the original image in the original scanning direction, and even if the original is set up on a position slightly shifted from the reference position of the original platen or the original size is smaller than the fixed size only by one size, a copy from which the unnecessary black ground has been completely removed can be obtained. |
