Nickel-titanium aluminium alloy catalyst - for hydrogenation of vegetable oils and fats

The catalyst which is suitable for hydrogenation of unsatd. organic C=C double bond contg. compds. such as fats and vegetable oils, is composed of a Ni-Ti-Al alloy of compn. (wt %) about 50.0 Al, 27-47 Ni, 3.0 Ti, 0.01-20 Mo and/or Sn, or Pt, or Pd. The catalyst allows hydrogenation to be carried out at a temp. of 120-240 degrees C in the case of vegetable oils and fats, and 5-240 degrees C of other unsatd. compds.
