PURPOSE:To enable a paper to be fed constantly favorably regardless of the thickness of the paper, by providing a platen, a printing head and a spring which is integral with the printing head so that a paper guide plate can be minutely moved relative to the printing head and is energized toward the platen by the spring. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 5 is fastened to a printing head 3 by engaging a pair of fitting holes 5b respectively to a pair of guide posts 4 with play. A lower side part of an L-shaped spring plate 6 is maintained in contact with the top face of the printing head 3. The guide plate 5 is normally energized toward a platen 1 by the spring plate 6, so that the gap between a paper bail part 5a and the platen 1 is minimized. Therefore, a paper 2 small in thickness is appropriately passed through the gap, and is printed. When a thicker paper 2 is fed, the guide plate 5 is pressed and moved by the paper 2 away from the platen 1 against the elastic force exerted by the spring plate 6, whereby the gap is enlarged, and the paper 2 is appropriately passed through the gap. Namely, the guide plate 5 can be minutely moved by an amount corresponding to a dimension (x) in the front-back direction. |
