<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate removal of chips, by allowing a solvent dripped onto a workpiece having been formed therein with fine grooves to flow wide, then by applying a soft plastic film which is soluble in the solvent, over the workpiece, and by stripping the film off the workpiece after the solvent being volatilized. CONSTITUTION:Since a part of chips 19 remains in the bottoms of fine grooves which are formed in a workpiece 21 by a cutter tool, a solvent 22 is dripped and is allowed to flow wide. Then a thin plastic film 23 which is soluble in the solvent 22, is applied over the workpiece 21. Further, a part of the plastic film 23 is dissolved in the solvent so that the chips 19 are wrapped by a dissolved layer 24. In this arrangement, the workpiece are left for a while being held in this condition to allow the solvent to volatilize, and therefore, the dissolved layer 24 is again hardened wrapping the chips 19. Accordingly, when the plastic film 23 is stripped, the chips 19 may be removed without the outer surface of the workpiece being scratched. Thus, it is possible to form fine grooves with a high degree of machining accuracy.</p> |
