A multi-contact electrical connector 1 has at least two guide members 6 and 8, adapted to engage guideways on a second connector (14), Fig. 2 (not shown), to guide the contacts into their correct position, one of the guide members 6 being permanently secured to the first connector, the other being movable to selected positions so that the connector cannot be used with a second connector having guideways not in corresponding positions. The movable guide members are each in the form of a resilient blade having a bifurcated rear section 9, which clips into slots formed on opposite sides of the first connector which can accommodate up to seven of these guide members. In an alternative embodiment the connector is formed integrally with the guiding members which may be broken off to leave the required formation. |
