PURPOSE:To perform copying operation with stable performance by using a selenium-arsenic photosensitive body and an electrostatic discharging lamp composed of light components of 380-600nm and >=720nm in wavelength, and setting the quantity of exposure for electrostatic discharging 5-20 times as large as the quantity of half exposure of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 1 uses the selenium-arsenic photosensitive body and the electrostatic discharging lamp 9 has light components of 380-600nm and >=720nm in wavelength. The photosensitive body 1 and a developing device 4 are rotated as shown by arrows A and B respectively, an electrostatic charger 2, a transfer charger 5, and a paper separating charger 6 are applied with a high voltage, and an interimage erasing lamp 8, a lamp 9, and an auxiliary exposure lamp 10 turn on. The lamps 8 and 10 turn off a specific time later and the photosensitive body 1 is irradiated with the image of an original by an image exposing device 3 at the same time. Then, the quantity of exposure for electrostatic discharging is set 5-20 times as large as the quantity of half exposure of the photosensitive body to perform stable image formation. |
