HEAT DEVELOPABLE PHOTOSENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in a photographic performance during storage and to improve the aging stability by forming at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support and incorporating one or more kinds of nondiffusible reducing agents into a nonphotosensitive layer positioned above a silver halide emulsion layer farthest from the support. CONSTITUTION:At least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is formed on a support and one or more kinds of nondiffusible reducing agents are incorporated into a nonphotosensitive layer positioned above a silver halide emulsion layer farthest from the support. The amount of the reducing agents used is 1X10<-1>-10<-7>mol/m<2>, preferably 10<-2>-10<-5>mol/m<2>. The reducing agents are dissolved in an org. solvent having a high b.p. such as alkyl phthalate before dispersion in a hydrophilic binder. The reducing agents may be combined with other reducing agent. They are preferably added immediately before the nonphotosensitive layer is formed by coating.
