PURPOSE:To produce the titled lipid in a large production under simple cultivation conditions, by aerobically cultivating a specific strain in a culture medium containing a >=10C n-alkane, etc. CONSTITUTION:Rhodococcus erythropolis SD-74 strain, separated from alkaline soil as a hydrocarbon assimilating microorganism and having the following mycological properties; Morphological characteristic; 0.6mum diameter of hypha. Growing in the form of hypha and having branches. Rich growth in a nutrient agar culture medium. Colony color; light grown. No growth in starch agar culture medium. Growth temperature range; 10-40 deg.C. Assimilating D-glucose without assimilating lactose, etc., is cultivated in a culture medium containing one or more substances selected from >=10C n-alkanes, fats or oils, etc., at 5.5-9.5 pH and 20-35 deg.C for about 6 days under aerobic conditions by a spinner culture method with aeration to produce a succinyl-trehalose lipid mixture, which is then separated and extracted to collect the aimed succinyl-trehalose lipid. |
