Process for the manufacture of a composite material of mineral nature. According to the invention the process for the manufacture of a material from lava is characterised in that it consists in depositing sodium silicate on a sheet of lava, depositing a glass pane on the silicate-coated lava sheet, heating the whole in the furnace to produce melting of the glass and allowing to cool. Application to manufacture of coverings for walls, furniture, floors, tombstone plates and the like.
