PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately measure the concn. of carbon dioxide, by measuring the concn. of dissolved carbon dioxide in such a state that the sensing part of a bio-electrochemical sensor, the atmosphere in the vicinity thereof and a solution having carbon dioxide dissolved therein are blocked from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A carbon dioxide sensor 7 is inserted in a cylindrical container 10, which is hermetically closed with a rubber cock 6. The space in the container 10 is preliminarily filled with inert gas. The cock of an injection port 11 is opened and a buffer solution from which carbon dioxide has been sufficiently removed is injected in the container 10. The injection port 11 is closed and the cock of an injection port 12 is opened to inject a definite amount of a test solution in the container 10. The injection port 12 is closed and the cock of an injection port 13 is opened to inject dilute hydrochloric acid in the container 10 to adjust pH of a solution mixture to 4.5 and carbon dioxide dissolved in the solution mixture 14 is entirely expelled to the space of the hermetically closed container 10 to be quantified by the carbon dioxide sensor 7. |
