<p>Process in which the sheet is pre-stretched before being applied onto the load, being entrained successively at a first point at a first speed and at a second point located downstream of the first at a second speed which is greater than the first speed, characterized in that, downstream of the second point, the free end of the stretched sheet is stretched in the same direction at a speed which is lower than or equal to the second stretching speed in order to surround the load with stretched sheet.
