In cooker hobs, in particular of so-called standing cookers, it is usual to provide a cover plate which can be folded, via hinges fastened to the rear side of the hob, out of the horizontal position covering the cooker hob into the vertical position, and is held in the folded-up position by self-locking of the hinge. In the hinge according to the invention, a slider-crank mechanism is provided as brake member for the cover plate, the connecting rod of this sliding-crank mechanism being articulated on the cover plate and the slider being guided against a brake force in a guide path of the bearing part of the cover plate. <IMAGE>
