<p>The towed suction dredger with cutter incorporates a ladder with a rotary cutter at the bottom end and from which a pipe runs up to the surface vessel. The ladder is derricked by hoist ropes from the position resting on the seabed to one above water for stowage. The cutter (6,9,11) is so coupled to the vessel (1) via the ladder (5) as to allow free turning about three axes at right angles to each other. One axis is parallel to the vessel axis, so that no rotary movement of the vessel is transmitted to it.</p> |
