The invention relates to a vehicle cab kit, a shell of a driver's cab, as is known from civil vehicles, being assumed as a "welding jig". Armoured wall components are welded onto this "welding jig" by means of connecting webs. In the regions of the engine bonnet and the front panelling, the protected structure remains open as for the civil design. Here, an armoured engine bonnet and an armoured grating are removably installed in the same dimensions as the civil design. The ready-welded, protected structure is to be considered a self-bearing vehicle body so that the driver's cab shell is borne by the latter on all sides by means of the connecting webs. The floor of the driver's cab shell is protected with inserted steel armoured plates. The protected structure with the integrated driver's cab shell is attached to the chassis of the vehicle at the same connection points as the civil design which, however have to be reinforced for the greater weights. In this way, it is possible to divide up and realise an armoured structure in such a way that for different types of vehicles such as repair truck, ambulance, radio control vehicle, ABC detection vehicle and transport vehicle, the same protected driver's cab can always be used and a protected utility space for the respective purpose of use has to be interchanged.
