Decontaminanting liqs. contaminated with radioactive material comprises passing the contaminated material over an ion exchanger, esp. an ion exchange resin and partic. a polystyrene-based cation exchange resin such as LEWATIT TP 207 (RTM). - Pref. the removal of the different radioactive elements is carried out stagewise and selectively by controlling the pH of the liquor to be decontaminated.
