The invention relates to a vibration damper (oscillation damper) for electrical overhead lines. Said damper has a clamp (3) for firmly clamping on the conductor cable (2) and for clamping an elastic support (8). Retaining bodies (13, 14) are formed at specific distances from the clamp (3) on those ends of the support (8) which project on both sides beyond the clamp (3). Weights (12) are mounted on the support (8) via said retaining bodies (13, 14). Each weight (12) is constructed in a split manner, and each weight element (15, 16) forms a fitting, positively-locking seat (19) for the retaining bodies (13, 14). <IMAGE>
