PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of battery caused in high temperature operation by arranging a molten-sulfur resistant circular supporting member between the inner side of circular cathode conductive material and the outer side of the lower part of a solid electrolyte tube, vertically dividing the supporting member into two or more parts, and forming spaces between the divided parts. CONSTITUTION:A circular cathode conductive material 11 which is in contact with the inner circumference of the lower part of a container 5 consists of two vertically divided parts 11-1, 11-2. A circular supporting member 12 made of molten-sulfur resistant material such as alpha-alumina is arranged between the inner side of the cathode conductive material and the outer side of the lower part of the solid electrolyte tube 1. The supporting member 12 consists of four vertically divided parts 12-1-12-4, and spaces 13-1-13-4 are formed between the divided parts. In high temperature operation, the conductive material 11 expands in a central direction and the supporting members 12 are pressed. Thereby, the spaces 13-1-13-4 between the divided parts 12-1-12-4 are narrowed to support the solid electrolyte tube 1. |
