In the case of regulating systems, for example for electric cookers having temperature-dependent regulating switches, irregularities in the regulation behaviour repeatedly occur as a result of momentary sticking of the regulating contacts, linked to an extreme load on the load, for example the electrical heating element. In order to avoid this, according to the invention, the switching contacts of at least two identical regulating switches are connected in series in the operating circuit, it being possible to preclude the occurrence of irregularities in both regulating switches.
