Measurement value transmitters are also known which supply an impressed current as measurement signal. According to the invention, the operating voltage supply of a converter (4, 5, 6), which converts the impressed current of a measurement value transmitter (1) into signals suitable for floating transmission, is simplified by the fact that the operating voltage is derived from the impressed current (IM). For this purpose, it is necessary that the impressed current is always greater than a minimum current. The invention is applied in signal shapers of control and automation systems. <IMAGE>
