Single-chip data separators have recently come onto the market. Apart from a crystal, they require various external components, such as capacitors, delay lines and the like; furthermore, in many cases calibration work has to be carried out in order to ensure satisfactory functioning. The object of the invention is to develop a data separator which can be operated just with a crystal as the external component. The object is achieved by a gate array which achieves all delay times by internal gate delays. Since the gate delays are highly temperature-dependent, complete compensation is accomplished by using the crystal frequency to check the dimensional design of the circuit.
