1336060 Stud and socket fastenings TESLA NARODNI PODNIK 8 Oct 1971 [25 Feb 1971] 47043/71 Heading E2B [Also in Division H1] A device for exchange of objects in vacuum space e.g. quick exchange of diaphragms or specimen holders, such as in electron microscopes, comprises a fork shaped pull rod 1 on which is freely suspended a holder 2 releasably engageable with the object, e.g. cartridge 10 with aperture 13, the holder 2 comprising a rod 5 with disc 3 fixed thereto, the rod being axially movable in tube having further disc 6 attached thereto, and gripping pins 8 radially retractable towards the rod by axial reciprocation of the rod with respect to the tube for engagement or otherwise with the object, e.g. groove 11 in cartridge 10, the fork shaped pull rod being movable vertically and horizontally. Gripping pins 8 are actuated by relative movement between the tube and rob 5, as in Fig. 2 (not shown) for instance when pressure is applied downward against impeded disc 6. When located in aperture (15) Fig. 3 (not shown), flexible ring (16) of meandering latches hold the object. Described is the initial insertion in a rough pumping chamber of an electron microscope and then through a plate valve after exhaustion. By pressing on bearing disc 13 when the object is positioned in member (14), the gripping pins retract enabling the bearing holder to be withdrawn (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown). |
