A switch panel of an electrical medium-voltage switching and distribution installation is equipped with a power switch unit which, in its operating position, is connected to electrical busbars such that it makes contact, and which can be withdrawn from this operating position into a test position, which is separated from the electrical busbars, and further into a maintenance position. In the two last-mentioned positions of the power switch unit, a compartment wall can be inserted between said power switch unit and the electrical busbars and their connecting points. In order to prevent incorrect handling in conjunction with the insertion of the compartment wall, a design is proposed as a result of which this compartment wall (29) can be inserted into the interior of the switch panel in the test position (15) and in the maintenance position of the power switch unit (14) from the outside of the switch panel through an opening (insertion slot 24) which is on the front side, is like a slot, and extends virtually over the entire width of the switch panel. In contrast, said compartment wall (29) cannot be inserted in the operating position in which - moved by a linkage (16, 17, 18, 19) which is mechanically connected to the switch unit (14) - a locking element (19) can be guided in the region of the slot-like opening, is positioned - seen from the front - directly behind the slot-like opening (24) and blocks said opening (24) at certain points, or which, instead of this, ... a closure flap (22), which can pivot onto the slot-like opening (24) in its .... which blocks the slot-like opening ...
