The carrying handle (15) for a package has a middle part (16) which is separated from the outer parts (21) by means of slots (17). Furthermore, two U-shaped cut-outs (18) are provided which have circular punched-out sections (19) at their ends. The middle part of the U of these cut-outs (18) is arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the middle part (16) of the carrying handle (15). A cut-out (11) with adjacent semicircular apertures (12) is provided in an outer part (10) of the package. Furthermore, slit-like apertures (13) which are arranged at an incline to the longitudinal axis of the middle part (16) of the carrying handle (15) are arranged in the outer part of the blank (7). The corners (20) of the carrying handle are inserted into the inclined apertures (13), the middle part (16) of the carrying handle being pushed under the cut-out (11) and coming to rest in the semicircular apertures (12). The advantage of the carrying handle is that no bonded points are necessary. It can be carried comfortably and returns to its starting position once the package has been put down, which facilitates the stacking of a number of packages. <IMAGE>
