PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium provided with a fire retardant property and having excellent characteristics, by constituting said recording medium of a coloring material layer and a layer containing a fire retardant substance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording material is at least constituted of a coloring material layer and a layer containing a fire-retardant substance. Further, said fire retardant substance of the medium is an additive type fire- retardant comprising one of the following compounds A-D or a mixture consisting two or more kinds thereof A: a halogen compound, B: a phosphoric ester compound, C: a halogenated phosphoric ester compound and D: an inorg. compound. Further, the fire-retardant substance is a reaction type fire retardant containing at least halogen and phosphorus. The content of the fire-retardant substance is 1-100wt%. The layer containing the fire-retardant substance is provided on one surface of a support layer and the coloring material layer is provided on the opposite surface thereof. The layer 103 containing the fire- retardant substance is provided on the surface opposite to the coloring material layer 102 of the support layer 101 and the same function as a blocking preventing layer can be imparted to said layer 103. |
