PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material free from the color development on a white background part by chemicals and forming a developed color image hardly generating discoloration and fading, by using bis- hydroxycumylbenzene or bis-hydroxy-alpha-methylbenzylbenzene and one or more of a salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof in a mixed state as electron accepting compounds. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material having a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron donating dye precursor and an electron accepting compound forming a color upon the reaction with the electron donating dye precursor, as the electron acceptive compound, bis- hydroxylcumylbenzene or bis-hydroxy-alpha-methylbenzylbenzene and one or more of a salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof are used in a mixed state. In the electron accepting compound, a hydroxycumyl group or a hydroxy-alpha- methylbenzyl group is pref. present at 1, 4-positions. As embodiments of the salicylic acid derivative or the metal salt thereof, there are 5-t-octylsalicylic acid, 3,5-di-t-butylsalicylic acid and 3-methyl-5-dodecylsulfosalicylic acid. |
