The known methods of coating tube plates or the like by hand are relatively complicated and thus expensive. In order to avoid these disadvantages, the object of the invention is to bring about a method of coating which can be implemented in a simple and safe manner and ensure correct coating of tube plates and the like. According to the invention, this is achieved by means of the following features: (a) outwardly projecting plugs 5, which project above the end edges of the tubes, are inserted into the ends 3 of the tubes 2, (b) before the tube plates 1 or the like are mounted, simple or multi-part falsework 6 is brought into firm contact against the outer sides of the plugs 5, forming a closed interspace 8 between the tube bottom 1 or the like and the falsework 6, (c) the interspace 8 is filled with corrosion protection agent, forming a coating 9 on the tube bottom 1 or the like, (d) after a predetermined time, the falsework 6 is removed, and the plugs 5 are removed from the ends 3 of the tubes 2. <IMAGE>
