PURPOSE:To certainly detect the position of a steel cord, by allowing a detection member having a thin plate shaped leading end part, to which magnetic force has been applied, to approach a ply containing a steel cord to measure attraction force. CONSTITUTION:The detection member 3 of the detection apparatus held to a machine frame 1 in a cantilevered state by a leaf spring 2 is allowed to approach the steel cord-containing ply placed on a table 7. The detection member 3 is made of iron and the lower end part thereof is formed into a thin plate shape like a minus driver and magnetic force is applied thereto by an electromagnet 4. In movement of a machine frame 1 to a left-and-right direction, the detection member 3 is strongly attracted to a downward direction when the leading end part of the detection member 3 traverses the part directly above a steel cord S and the leaf spring 2 is bent to generate large electric output from a strain gauge 5. Because the leading end of the detection member 3 is formed into the thin plate shape, the position of the steel cord can be certainly detected even if there are adjacent steel cords approaching each other. |
