They consist, for example, of pharmaceutical preparations and/or active substances from medicinal plants which have been mixed with an edible binder to give a substance which is solid at normal ambient temperatures and which have been shaped into a lick. To further process the medicament in such a way that it can be dispensed without problems and is accepted by the horses, the substance which has been formed into a lick contains a palatable mixture of sugar, glucose, honey and salt as the binder. Such a substance is accepted readily by all horses and can also be dispensed in relatively large amounts without harmful effects. A device for dispensing the lick consists of at least one container (5) which is open at the bottom and in which the lick (1) can be held in place in such a manner with the aid of a gripping element (2) that part of it protrudes from the bottom opening of the container. |
