PURPOSE:To reduce the necessity of periodic charging of a Ni-Cd battery by providing a solar battery in parallel with the Ni-Cd battery. CONSTITUTION:A portable input/output device includes a control part 11 including a microprocessor 12, a power supply part 18, and an output device 15. The control part 11 includes a memory part 13 and I/O port 14. The power supply part 18 is provided with the combination of a Ni-Cd battery 16 and a solar battery 17 from which power is supplied to the microprocessor 12, the memory part 13, and the I/O port 14. The solar battery 17 starts power generation by the lightness of an indoor lamp or the like and starts to charge the Ni-Cd battery 16 simultaneously with the start of power generation.
