PURPOSE:To speed up pattern recognition by holding pattern data to be recognized in a memory and processing time sequentially two-dimensional pattern recognition. CONSTITUTION:Memories 5, 7 store the binarization image data of a reference pattern to (m) picture elements in the subscanning direction and (n) picture elements in a main scanning direction. An output signal of a comparator 6 is inputted to a counter 10 in a pattern deciding circuit and the counter 10 is counted up when a coincidence signal is inputted and preset when a discrepancy signal is inputted. When the coincidence signals are continuously inputted, a reference image data group corresponding to (m) picture elements in the subscanning direction stored in the memory is accessed time sequentially along the main scanning direction and compared with an image data group to be inspected by the comparator 6. When the counter 10 is counted up continuously (n) times, a pattern coincidence detecting signal is outputted from the pattern deciding circuit. |
