PURPOSE:To increase current efficiency of positive electrode by adding a compound which retards oxygen evolution in a positive electrode to positive active material or electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:An anion such as fluorine ion which is easily adsorbed in positive active material or a cation such as caecium ion is added to electrolyte to increase the adsorbing amount of sulfuric acid ion to positive active material. Thereby, oxygen evolution which is secondary reaction is charging of positive plate of lead-acid battery is retarded. By the additive which retards oxygen evolution in the positive electrode, the charging current efficiency in the positive electrode is improved and capacity deterioration in quick charge can be prevented. |
